TIPS FOR FANS

Meeting Your Favourite Rider: Tips and Tricks

In the World Superbike Championship (WorldSBK), fan interaction is one of its standout features. With opportunities to access the paddock or attend fan events, you can meet riders, grab autographs, or snap memorable photos. Even without a paddock pass, there are several ways to connect with the stars of WorldSBK. Here's how:

Fanzones
Fanzones often host riders as part of their promotional commitments. Keep a close eye on the social media accounts of event organisers, teams, riders, and sponsors for updates on when and where these interactions take place. This is one of the easiest ways to meet riders in a relaxed environment.

Near the circuit
Many riders stay offsite at nearby hotels, and their parking areas are usually near the main entrance of the circuit. Arriving early might give you a chance to spot them as they head to the track. Riders often arrive before the race program starts to avoid traffic, so plan accordingly.

The Paddock Show
The Paddock Show is a fan favourite and unique to WorldSBK. It features live session commentary, rider interviews, autograph sessions, and chat shows. It’s the perfect venue to get up close with riders while enjoying hours of entertainment.

Pit-Lane Walk
The Pit Lane Walk is a unique feature of the World Superbike Championship (WorldSBK), offering fans an up-close experience of the racing environment. During this event, attendees can stroll along the pit lane, observe teams preparing their bikes, and potentially interact with riders. It's an excellent opportunity to witness the behind-the-scenes action that contributes to race day excitement.

The Pit Lane Walk is typically available on both Saturday and Sunday of the race weekend. However, access is often limited and may require a special pass or wristband. At the Circuito de Jerez Ángel Nieto, fans usually need to obtain a wristband by presenting their event ticket at designated ticket offices on the morning of the Pit Lane Walk. In 2024, the Pit Lane Walk was scheduled from 16:15 to 17:00 on Saturday and from 13:15 to 13:35 on Sunday.

Victory Lane
In the World Superbike Championship (WorldSBK), "Victory Lane" offers fans a unique opportunity to engage closely with the post-race celebrations. After each Superpole session and race, the top three riders ride through the paddock area, allowing fans to interact with them as they make their way to Parc fermé and the podium. This experience enables spectators to shake hands with the winners and get closer than ever to their racing heroes.

Meeting riders: Do’s and don’ts

  • Respect Their Time: Riders often have tight schedules and high-pressure responsibilities. If a rider seems in a hurry, don’t demand an autograph or photo. Respect their boundaries.
  • Bring Official Merchandise: Riders are more likely to sign team apparel or event programs. Avoid offering items like plain paper or unrelated clothing.
  • Photos: Be polite when requesting a photo. If possible, have someone else take the picture instead of attempting a selfie. Respect their personal space—riders might not always be comfortable with physical contact.

Enjoying the race comfortably

  • Plan Ahead: Avoid peak times for bathroom breaks or meals to skip long lines. Schedule your day so you’re not stuck in queues during key moments.
  • Stay Flexible: General admission tickets often include access to multiple areas. Use this to your advantage by exploring different views of the track over the weekend.

Where to watch the race

Our grandstand guides provide detailed insights on the best spots to catch the action. Whether you’re looking for close-up views, great photo opportunities, or the most thrilling corners, choose your seat wisely. Keep in mind:

  • Circuit distances can be extensive, and moving between areas might take time, especially with crowds. Plan your movements strategically.
  • If a track invasion is part of the event, consider standing near the podium for the best post-race experience.

Track invasion

After certain races, fans are invited onto the track for the podium ceremony. This once-in-a-lifetime experience lets you celebrate alongside the winners. Check our fan zone and event program guide to confirm if this applies to your chosen event and plan your seating for easy access.

Enjoy the excitement of WorldSBK with these tips, ensuring you make the most of every moment on and off the track.
